  • 65 mustang child seat provisions

I'm versed in newer vehicle installs for forward facing child seats. This includes an attachment point in the package tray area. While the interior is apart I want to plasma cut some gussets to weld in. Anybody on here have some photos they could share or notes from a similar set up?

    thanks
    Brian

I had an extra bar put in across my package tray with my cage for then attaching the top tether of child seats and now for Jr Dragster belts. Not sure that's going to help you though.

Any chance of getting a picture with the bar?

I don't want to purchase a new seat just for the mustang since I already own two child seats for the two daily drivers.
my concern isn't so much the floor attachment points as I would treat these like a cage install. They recommend a forward facing seat up to a specific weight, and my concern was just welding a bracket to the package tray and the flimy material there. The way the back seat curves over top I would have to add something to strengthen it.

No problem, I'll get one posted when I get home tonight. I agree with the package tray tin being pretty flimsy. I thought about adding a plate under the tray to stiffen up the mounting points but the extra pipe ended up being an easier, stronger option.

See I was thinking of something different altogether.

              Thanks for the picture.
