Thanks Fred. Today after work it was hot (85) so I only spent about 1 hour working on the Coupe. I finish ground the cuts I made to remove the rotted metal from the l/s cowl panel & re-test fit the cowl panel patch piece, & finish ground the cuts on the l/s frame rail where I cut out rotted metal & traced out on a frame rail patch piece the pieces I need to fix the rear section of the frame rail, & I also test fit the l/s floor support.

Today I spent a couple hours & trimmed & fitted both of the l/s frame rail patches & ground away the rust where I will be welding.

Wow, that takes a lot of skill to take on a project like that. You're doing great though. Keep up the nice work and it will be better than new when you're done.

Today it is 72 cloudy & no rain.... yet. I welded in the patches on the rear section of the l/s frame rail.

I also started welding in the patch for the l/s cowl side panel until it started to rain. At least I got in 4 hrs of welding today. Time for a beer & a shower.

Thanks. As far as I can tell my 69 Coupe spent most of its operational life in north Jersey. The inspection sticker that is still on the front windshield says the inspection ran out in Oct of 1994, & then after that it was off the road, & I purchased it in the fall of 2000 from a guy in north Jersey when we were living out near Pa.

Today I did the final test fit on the l/s floor support, & the l/s inner torque box.

I also did a test fit on the l/s outer torque box.

Today despite the heat I welded in the l/s floor support, & started welding in the l/s inner torque box.

Thanks Steve, yes it was hot. It was 84 at the time I was welding & only kept at it for about 1 1/2 hours then had to call it quits until the weather cools a little. Yesterday the temp was 98 so there was NO way I was welding in that heat, but I had to get some work done this weekend.
