Today after work I spent a couple hours removing what I hope is the last of the rust through spots.

      Here is the affected area.

      Cut out the bad area.

      The patches.

Are you going to add one of those Pro-Motorsports shock tower reinforcement kits that duplicates the bracing done on Boss and big block cars? Well worth it, IMHO.

Yes Steve. The kit I have I purchased from Opentracker Racing has the engine side 2 tower wrap around pieces, 2 vertical pieces that run from the frame up to the upper control arm bolt holes, & on the tire side the piece that goes between the frame rail & the lower part of the shock tower like on the Boss 302's. I am also going to do the Shelby/Arning upper control arm drop.

That looks just like the one I used. Didn't you also get the 'L' brackets to brace the bottom of the towers?
You can see them in these photos.

Steve, the kit I purchased did not include them, but I have some metal left over from when I patched the frame where the front floor supports overlap I am going to make them. Today after work I removed the suspension pieces from the l/s.

Thanks Fred. Today I spent a couple hours cleaning off the surface rust & old undercoating from the r/s front frame rail, shock tower, firewall, & most of the rear inner fender panel.

Today after work I finished removing the undercoating from the r/s rear inner fender panel & the paint from the radiator support. If you look closely you can see my temp front body dolly bolted through the sway bar frame mounts so even though the front suspension is out of the car it is still mobile & I can move it in & out of the garage.
