Thanks, The coil spring covers are the factory ones that were on the car I just removed them & cleaned & re-painted them when I was replacing the coil springs. Check out the links, they got good reviews. http://www.cjponyparts.com/dynacorn-...-1970/p/3630J/

      • Yesterday the big brown truck brought me some goodies for the Mustang. 4.5 leaf mid-eye rear leaf springs, rear dual exhaust shackles, & Koni STR.T front & rear shocks.

It was in the low 50's today so I fired up the compressor & sand blasted the used hood hinges I purchased for the Mustang.

        • Yesterday I purchased 2 used lower radiator saddle brackets, cleaned off the surface rust, straightened one, painted them, installed them, & installed the radiator to check the fit, looks good to me.

          • Yesterday I painted the hood hinges & installed them today along with the power brake booster/master cylinder assembly & hooked up the brake lines from the proportioning valve/distribution block to the master cylinder.

            • Today I was going to remove the rear axle assembly for a rebuild, but I found the rear spring front bolts are rusted to the metal sleeve inside the rubber bushings. I will have to cut the bolts to be able to remove the rear leaf springs, that will have to wait for another day. Instead I installed the Koni STR T front shocks, & the hood latch support bracket.

              • What color did you use for your hood hinges? I need to do the same with mine.

First I sand blasted all the old paint off, then I used a couple coats of Eastwoods zinc phosphate paint to achieve the color.

I have also used that paint for the metal part of the motor mount that bolts to the frame, the shock tower caps, wiper linkage, & the hood latch. I will also be painting my new leaf springs the same color because they were not wraped up during delivery & were scratched up when they were delivered to me.

Thanks Mike, I keep doing a little each day. ( as long as my back doesn't hurt.) Today I set the rear of the Mustang on jack stands & removed the rear bumper & the valance so I could get at the rear shackles easier. I soaked the rear leaf spring front bolts with rust bust & put my impact gun on it & I could get it to spin but it will NOT come out. Time to cut it.

                        • Well I decided I did not like the Mustang supported by the jack stands under the rear torque boxes since I have to cut the front leaf spring bolts to remove the rear leaf springs they were going to be in the way. So I removed the old gas tank & placed 2 jack stands just inside both rear leaf springs & placed a 2x4 across them & set the back of the Mustang on it, now I have plenty of room.

                            • Mike,
I'm getting behind on your progress! I'm jealous of your persistence & perseverance!

Mike, back on post #110, you installed the new Street Or Track adjustable strut rod..... did they provide you with any instruction as to how to adjust them or did you simply take measurements between the two front tires..??
