    We havent actually talked yet, he just floated the offer out there on his forum.
    I'm actually intrigued by the idea of a custom ground cam that was spec'ed by someone that knows what they are doing, AND adding heads that flow better. I am thinking it would be easier to swap the heads with the motor in the car. Yeah, it would be a PITA, but I think it would still be less work than pulling the motor out to do it on an engine stand.

      I went a head and bit the bullet and told him let's do this.
      He wants to use the heads that are on the car now so he can compare apples to apples. That's fine with me, it's just less work I have to do.
      He's only adding 2 degrees of duration to both sides, but he's using a more aggressive lobe, and opening up the LSA and ICL two degrees on both.

        Interesting. Is it going to bump up the power band a little?

          He's never really said, but he thinks it's just down on power from where it should be all the way around, and thinks the current cam has too much overlap and that's part of why the mph isnt where he thinks it should be.
          Hey, I'm game. If he thinks he can make it quicker as it sits and is willing to follow thru on that offer, I'm all for giving it a shot.
          I know this, I am fed up with clevelands. I have hit a plateau with my little bit of knowledge and obviously am not capable of making it any quicker.

            The new cam showed up yesterday.
            It's;
            302/313 advertised
            272/282 @ .050",
            108 LSA, 104 ICL,
            .695"/.683" gross lift.

            Current cam is;
            304/312 advertised
            270/276 @ .050
            106 LSA,102 ICL
            .690/.672 lift

            New cam is using more aggressive lobes, so it will be interesting to see how the motor responds.

              I would say your Cleve' will have a more noticable "lope" at idle with it!

                How close is your ptv clearance now,and do you think this new cam will cause any changes to it.I have changed my v-6 set up to even fire and my ptv clearance is tight on the intake and exhaust.

                  With my current cam it was .055 on the intake, with lash but no head gasket. Exhaust was "quarter of a mile" according to my notes. LOL
                  Hopefully it doesnt change drastically cuz I'm swapping the cam with the motor in the car.

                    That didnt go as planned.
                    I thought I would get the cam swap completed today, get the car fired up to get the timing set, then I would be done with all that part and it would be ready for the first race. I had to swap out my electric CSI water pump as it started leaking like a sieve the last race, and I stuck my good old trusty Weiand aluminum pump back on the car with the Moroso water pump drive. ~buzzer sound~ That's not gonna work. The lower radiator hose for the pump is right smack in the way of the belt drive fuel pump. No matter what I do with the hose, it's in the way. Well crap, looks like I need to buy another electric pump. That means the car is not running and I need to swap out water pumps again.

                      What about those flexible metal hoses with the rubber sleeves that allow you to adjust the hose to a better position.

                        Thats an idea. I would have to look at how far I could move it though as the pump is hitting the hose now, and the hose is also against one of the mounting bolt spacers.

                          This is what I had to do get the hose through my alternator belt.

                            That ~might~ work, but would not be a cheap experiment if it didnt.
                            How long are the rubber ends? That could be an issue if they are too long and cant be trimmed back shorter.

                            Worst case scenario, I will buy a PRW electric water pump for the car and see how long it lasts.

                              Iíll measure it this morning and get back with you there are sleeves that go inside the rubber hose to match your radiator inlet/outlet.

                                The hoses are 3 inches in length.
