Does anyone here run an engine built from a 400 ??

    I bought a 77 F-150 for the disk brakes for my 65 F-100.

    The 77 has a 400 and C-6.
I saw on google the C-6 has a 385 series bolt pattern.

I also saw some pics of a 400 crank turned down to fit a 351 windsor.

Is this stuff worth hanging onto.

You sure it was turned down to fit a windsor? Or a Cleveland? Built right, they make a good truck motor, but that's about it.

We have one in a 78 1 ton flatbed, good torque motor in front of a granny 4 speed. It don't pass many gas stations thats for sure. Before aftermarket cranks become more affordable we used to use 400 shafts for strokers (takes a lot of turning down on the throws and modifying the front snout) with 6 cyl Ford or 360 Dodge rods and custom pistons.
