  • Bloody Mary mix

Found this on the web, modified it a tad, damn good homemade bloody mary mix. I actually use it with hot vodka and a few dashes of chili bitters

    Bloody Mary Mix

3 cups tomato juice or V8 (not spicy)

3 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice

3 tablespoons fresh squeezed lime juice

    1 tablespoon prepared horseradish

    1 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

    teaspoon garlic powder

    teaspoon tabasco

    teaspoon celery salt

    teaspoon coarse black pepper

    1/3 cup pickle juice

Combine in blender until smooth, chill 2 hours.

The keys here are freshly opened "ATOMIC" horseradish, lemon AND lime juice! Garnished with a crisp celery stalk, a skewer each of "fat" green olives and shrimp and you've got a balanced meal! Two or three and YOU become unbalanced! I like SKY or Kettle One vodka.

I have had a taste for them as of late. We take the lazy way out and buy a mixer. We tend to use Ice Pik Vodka, made locally in NH and is 8x filtered. Smooth.

I've tried all kinds of pre mixed bloody mary mixes, I haven't liked any of them, the only one that is tolerable is zing zang but even that doesn't compare to this homemade mix, I simply make a batch and put it in an old bloody mary mix bottle.

Real men drink their liquor straight, none of that mixed junk!

Just picking at you Ron. I never did have a taste for mixed drinks other than margaritas. If I drank liquor, it was straight, and most of the time it was whiskey, Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, or maybe Crown royal. Drank some tequila straight a few times, too. Wife liked those frozen daiquiri things, fruity, yuk. If I wanted fruity I'd drink Kool Aid. Probably drank more beer than anything else, and I prefered Michelob back then.

Haven't had a drop, well other than a sip of some moonshine back in the winter for a cold , in close to 30 years. If I could quit smoking as easily as I quit drinking, I'd be better off.....

My alcohol and tobacco intake is directly correlated to my shltty job.

FYI, my favorite drink of all is a margarita on the rocks with lots of salt, and going one step further I absolutely love a Jalapeno Cucumber margarita on a hot summer night... YUM!!!
