  • Road trip for a few weeks ..........

I'll be out of touch until early April. Taking a road trip and headed south. I doubt I'll have any internet service, but if I do, I'll check in. Keep the place nice and tidy until I return !!

Back home yesterday at 4:30AM. I'm getting way too old for this stuff. Left Madeira Beach 11:30AM Wednesday and like an idiot, drove straight through to my home in S.E. Pa. Three pit stops for gas, pee and chow in GA, SC, VA.
South Carolina has the BEST gas prices. Paid $2.04 compared to $2.39 in FL and what looks like $2.49 in PA. The Navigator got 17.3 MPG at a speed mostly in the high 70's MPH.

Now unpacking the car, doing laundry, cleaning the car and sorting out fishing gear, paperwork, dirty laundry, clean clothes etc etc, and staring at a USPS basket containing 19 days of mail !!!

I worked on the mobile home down there as Tina was having some problems. Had GREAT weather. Uncommonly hot, for this time of year on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Mid 80's every day. The fishing was lousy, but the Gulf was beautiful. Spotless clean, 74 degrees and I did NOT want to come out of the water.

I overdid some of the physical work around the house and screwed up my back somewhat..... I am so pissed. That sciatic pain from the top of the butt cheek down the leg is a real mother-fu#*er. But I have to work through it. Got to see my grand-kids today. Then down the Jersey Shore tomorrow as I'm looking at a place in a six month 'camp ground', near our favorite beaches.
Knowing my daughter, SIL and grand kids will love it, as a lot of their friends have nice mobile homes in that same place. Looks nice. Two swimming pools, lake, fitness room, tennis and volley ball courts, play ground and dog friendly with a dog park.

Anyway, that's my update. I will get back in the swing of things here (at M&M) by next week, as I really need to get squared away here and finish up all this needed BS.
GREAT TO BE HOME AND BACK WITH MY M&M FAMILY !!

Thanks Guys. Sorry to not be posting yet. I have 'reverse-jet-lag.' That all day all night drive beat me up very badly. I have been real tired and moving slow, getting everything unpacked and put back in place. Still working on it. And like I said, Saturday was down at the Jersey Shore and another round trip drive.
Got doctor's appointments this week. Blood work tomorrow and a physical next week.
Boy I hate to admit it, but I'll be 71 in a few days, and I refuse to give in, but the Doc did say I was kind of an "Old 70" physically.
But like the old song by the "Impressions"......... 'Ya Gotta' ........ "Keep on pushin'" ..................

Thanks Mark. I would love to live in South Carolina. Out of the entire East Coast, I would pick SC. Of course the three months I did spend in South Carolina is full of nightmares of brutal physical training, violent hand to hand, knife and bayonet fighting, and worst of all, more than occasional beatings by our beloved Marine Corps Drill Instructors (back in the 1960's anyway).
Of course I'm talking about that desolate island, surrounded by gator & snake filled swamps, marshes and bays ..... that luxurious tropical island resort ....
