PhotoScan23 (6) - Copy.jpg My buddy bought this Grabber Green 70 Mustang Sportsroof brand new in 1970, and still has it! Its a M code 351C 4 barrel with Shaker hood, FMX 3.50 traction lock car with a black interior. He also still owns the same1957 Meteor Rideau 500 (Canadian Ford) 2 door that he bought in 1967 for $450.00. This photo was taken in 1976, just after I bought my 1rst Mustang, an almost identical 70 Sportsroof, Grabber Orange, M code 351C 4barrel, with Shaker, FMX and 3.25 rearend. My car also came with a console, rear wing, black interior with a Rim Blow steering wheel. Mine also had the fairly rare interior convinience group ( parking brake warning light, map light, and latching front seat backs that unlocked when the door was opened). My buddys green car has a rare rectangular clock (Mach1s had round clocks), and was radio delete, so it had a radio block off plate on the heater control panel.
For myself, not close to as long as Steves Sprint, or my buddy Garrys 70, this is the 32nd year that I have owned my 78 Fairmont. In 1986,it came into the car dealership I was working at , as a trade in. Being a no option 4 cylinder, 4 speed, with manual steering & brakes, I thought that it would make a good drag car. Since 1988, it has been just that!

I could have swore I responded to this last week, but it must be a false memory.

That's really impressive you had the car that long Steve. I've had my '70 since October 1987. It was a birthday/graduation/Christmas gift from my grandparents (although I was a senior and hadn't actually graduated yet.) My car is in pretty bad shape now due to years of neglect and being ignored. I have turned in to one of those "one of these days" guys.

Cool Rory. My mom had four door Fairmont the same color as yours. It too was a no option 4 cylinder 4 speed car. She beat the ever loving snot out of that car and it kept on running.
