  • Busy week!

Pam had time off from her job since last Tuesday and we have been spending three to six hours every day in my shop cleaning and organizing. We’ve found all sorts of parts and tools I never knew/remembered I had, reorganized them for easier finding and use, fix many things that have broken for a long time, including a drawer in my old Craftsman tool cabinet that has been broken for probably thirty years or so or maybe longer, and filled our trash and recycle bins, and cleared up a lot of room. We still have about 50% to go in here and have another whole garage to go through, which we’re going to tackle on our next vacation in a few weeks. People at our local Goodwill will be happy soon, too. I probably have a garage bay full of stuff I’ll be selling soon, too. It’s amazing how stuff accumulates over the years.

Yeah, but it doesn’t compensate for discovering you’ve bought tools or parts twice.

Especially when your wife is there to see it...

Been there done that, lol. I can't tell you how many various engine gaskets I have in the tool box from doing the same stupid thing.

I can relate. Have bought parts, lost them, bought replacements, then found the originals.

Guilty as charged here too. Lol I’m getting better lately though. Last week I saw a set of NOS Moroso 351C valve covers for sale at a reasonable price. I got to thinking that......hmmmmmm.....I have 2 NOS sets of the same ones in the shop on the shelf along with 2 nice used sets that are the same. Not counting about 5 other sets of various brands of covers for a 351C. Why do I need anymore of them???

Cool old valves covers make great shop wall art. I have a few screwed to the wall including an old original chrome Chevy 409 Bowtie set. I always get asked what they are off from the non cars guys that show up. Even have an old Desoto Hemi head screwed to a shelf post, lol

Man, that's the best way to find missing stuff....replace it. I held off calling a locksmith to replace keys I lost to the Saleen for like 9 months because I knew they would show up. Finally the nice weather hit and I couldn't take it any more. Called the guy and paid him smartly. Drove the Saleen maybe two days and the missing keys showed up wedged in between the center console and seat of my truck. Crazy....

                    HOLY CRAP STEVE!

You put your wife to work in YOUR shop on HER time off from work? The guy in me says "Good man, you're my hero!" but you know what a snowflake would say!

Not mine. She'd be trying to throw away stuff I need. Well, might need. No, stuff I really don't need right now, but would be hard to find if I had to look for it. Really, stuff I dont need, probably will never need, but dammit its mine and i'm keeping it!

She's not organised enough to keep her stuff straight, much less fool with mine. I'll just keep my little pile of junk to myself. ...
