  • Mustangs and More Pic Contest, Round 6, Then and now!

    Steve liked round 5 so well, we're going to repeat it, with a twist! This round, post pics in series of two's, one in the tear down or construction stage of your car or truck, and the other of the same vehicle now in it's current stage, finished or not. So, if you have two different vehicles you want to showcase, show us the start and where you are at now of each one. Steve has asked to left out of the voting this round to allow for others to win, but maybe he'll post one of his Sprint right after he got it, then one now as it sits in his shop. We'll take submissions until Sept 22, 12:00 noon.

          Thanks. No it is not the same neighborhood. The first pic is outside the detached garage of our old home in northwestern NJ out near Pa that we sold in 2003, & the bottom pic is outside our home at the Jersey shore that we purchased in 2011. (see pic below)

              Cerainly not a recent build, but here is how my 78 Fairmont looked shortly after I bought it in 1986. The 2nd shot was taken about 4 or 5 years ago, but has looked pretty much identical for the past 28 years, since it was painted in 1990. Its still doing the job, and with only 2 races left, still leading in the 2018 points chase.
              Attached Files
              1978 Fairmont 428CJ 4 speed 9.972@132.54.mph[/ 1.29 60 foot.
              1985 Mustang NHRA Stock eliminator 302 4 speed M/S 12.31@106.99 mph, with 331 bracket engine: 10.29@128.71 1.37 50 foot
              1959 Ford Meteor 2 dr sedan 332 FE auto (finally under construction witha 428CJ and 4 speed.)
              1974 F350 ramp truck 390 4 speed (gone buy not forgotten)
              2010 Ranger PU 2.3L 5 speed

                        Last minute submission...

                        Here's what it looked like just after I pulled it out of the shed:

                        [url=https://flic.kr/p/VfeD8C]

                        And here was last week:

                        It doesn't look a lot different on the outside other than it's cleaned up and has different wheels. Most of the work I've put into it has been in places you don't see as readily. Here's a before and after on the engine compartment (except the rust was already fixed by the shock towers). Before:

                        and after:

                        68 Cougar - 289, 4-speed
