I just heard a funny thing comedian Bill Burr said, “Rap music is like fast food, you can find it on any street corner, any kid can just slap it together and people will eat it up even though it sucks, and it gives older people diarrhea.”

Rap is jungle boogie with city slang thrown in.

What ever happened to real black music and musicians like Nat King Cole, The Temptations, Dione Warwick, The Spinners, etc? Those folks could actually sing, not scream senseless lyrics.

Exactly, one of my favorite lines I have is ‘I’m so old I remember when black people used to make good music.’

I can actually tolerate the early rap, back when it was fun, lighthearted, and the guys didnt take themselves seriously. Somewhere it got mean, violent, and turned in to that ghetto trash **** it is now.

Exactly, it’s being used to keep people upset, resentful, and vengeful. It degrades humanity.

I have a HUGE variety of different music tastes that I listen to on a regular basis daily. From old school country to punk to glenn miller to alternative to thrash metal to bluegrass to death metal to the B-52’s. Lol. I NEVER acquired the taste to listen to rap. I did think 2LiveCrew was ok back in the day though but that’s my extent of it n that was 30 years ago for them. Lol

HEAR HEAR!!! i would much rather listen to heavy metal, punk, or techno music than listen to the vast majority of rap music.

on the other hand give me della reese or ella fitzgerald, or glen miller, or the andrews sisters. pretty much anything before about 1985 works for me.
